Rhimmon Simchy-Gross Recital

Rhimmon Simchy-Gross has taken top prizes in competitions such as the 2008 Chopin International Piano Competition of the Thousand Islands, the 2008 MTNA New York State Division Piano Competition, the 2008 Central New York Association of Music Teachers Piano Competition and the 2008 Patricia DeAngelis Piano Competition.
As first prize winner of their Youth Concerto Competition, Rhimmon performed Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra in 2009. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with Paul Wyse at The Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam.

Red Rocks Music Festival Presents: Classical Meets Jazz
Wednesday, September 1st at 7PM
Tickets: Adults $25, 12 and under $10
Russell Schmidt will play his own arrangements of works by J. Turnia, and Latin jazz. An associate professor of music performance studies and director of jazz activities, he has served as a keyboard soloist with more than 30 professional orchestras, including performances with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center and the San Francisco Symphony. Schmidt has written for artists as wide-ranging as jazz saxophonists Bob Berg and Michael Brecker, the Ying String Quartet and the chamber music group Rhythm & Brass.
